Remembering the Intensity

One year ago. I was not yet working in my current job. Almost, but not quite. And I had just completed my first full marathon. Today I spent the day watching and supporting my friends in their first full marathon. To see their faces, I remember with that viceral feeling the pain and the intensity, the relief and tears when they finished.  I am so proud of them, and am inspired to train for my next race. To focus on my fitness and nutrition to improve on my last time.  I made my friends a DVD of photos I took. I remember how much I regretted not getting my friends to go out with a camera. Next marathon, I hope my family and friends all go out and snap 100’s of photos. Its a time that’s a blur, and intense and the memories are amazing.
My parents then came over for dinner. A relaxing peaceful evening. I’m going to suggest it more often.  Once a month maybe? It was wonderful to be able to just be at home and not have to drive the ~45min to get to them.  A quiet peaceful day. A day I will cherish.
