Sunday Reflections

R&R was the theme of today.  I got home from church, made brunch and then promptly fell asleep and napped on my favourite chair all day.  Occasionally I would wake up and pretend to watch a movie or read a magazine but I’d fall asleep again fairly quickly.  I definitely needed the rest. Around 4pm I decided that it was time for me to do something. Anything. So I went down to the beach, and slowly walked along the water.  I brought my camera with me and played with more of it’s settings and took the time to do some thinking.
As I made my way home I decided it was a good night for a fire. One thing I love about the cabin is it’s wood burning fireplace.  So I lit a fire, poured myself a glass of wine and cooked some chicken, pasta and veggies all tossed with a sun dried tomato paste.  So what’s the only thing missing? Someone special in my life with whom to share this evening.  But I’m not going to mope about my single relationship status and, instead, I am going to enjoy this cozy fall evening.  Tomorrow morning I will be heading home so that I can meet my old supervisor and research associate at the university for coffee.  I love 4-day weekends.
