A shock to the system…
This morning I did something I haven’t done in eons. Run with the Running Room group. I met some people I knew there from the running and fitness community, and one woman turned out to live in the building next to me. She’s quite nice, we did pilates last fall together, and she’s friends with other running friends of mine. There were several people I connected with, and I think I will keep running with them on the Sunday Runs.
But it’s a shock to my system. Last year at this time I was training for the marathon, with the long runs on Sundays, Saturdays were the Sun Run clinic sessions and then I had multiple mid week runs too. Today I did 9km. Much shorter than the 19k the marathon clinic was doing. But this is my first week back to building up my mileage and it’s a shock to my body. I can tell I’ll feel it tomorrow, yoga will be a necessity, but it does wonders for my headspace. The more I run the better I feel about me, and the easier it is to handle my world and what’s going on.
So I feel great. Tired, and like I might get sick (COLDFX time!), but great. Strong, healthy, confident… And ready for breakfast. So it’s off to shower then I’ll be heading to meet my friends for breakfast followed by a stitch’n’bitch afternoon!
